TO REPORT ON CARBON EMISSIONS
Measure your Carbon Footprint with Confidence
Businesses are now required to report on their energy and carbon usage as part of corporate governance regulations. Other than their own investor relations and internal policies, some businesses must include carbon performance in their Directors’ Report. This is all part of a government initiative to help the UK navigate the transition to a sustainable, low carbon economy. As a minimum, energy use from electricity, gas and transport fuel – as well as the associated GHG emissions – must be reported.
Are you required to report?
The new regulations will require up to 12,000 companies in the UK to disclose their energy and carbon emissions.
A company must report if they meet at least two of the following three criteria in a reporting year:
- Turnover > £36 million
- Balance sheet > £18 million
- Employees > 250
